Dental students to host CPD night in Dublin

by Guy Hiscott

Fourth-year dental students will host a CPD night on 17 May to raise funds for DOVE (Dental Overseas Voluntary Elective).

The night will take place at the Dublin Dental Hospital and will feature a lecture on the fundamentals of paediatric dentistry for the GDP, delivered by Dr Kirsten Fitzgerald. Dr Una Lally and Dr Michael Freedman will also deliver a joint lecture on the placement and restoration of zygomatic implants.

DOVE allows students to travel to developing communities across the world providing free dental care to those in need. Dental students travel during the summer of their fourth year of studies.

The event begins at 6.30pm with a wine reception. Lectures begin at 7pm and finish at approximately 8.30pm. It costs €50 for dental professionals to attend and €10 for students.

The event has been verified by the Dental Council with attendees gaining two CPD points. Space on the night is limited; contact dove@dental.tcd.ie to RSVP.
