Work starts on Athlone care centre

by Guy Hiscott

Construction is now underway on the primary care network centre being built in Athlone.

The first sod was officially turned by deputy Nicky McFadden on Friday 9 March (pictured).

The new centre is being built in Clonbrusk, and will include dental services as well as GP, physiotherapy, and mental health facilities amongst others. It is being touted as a ‘one-stop shop’ for the community’s health and social care services.

Work is expected to be finished by the middle of 2013.
