Dental nurses in marathon effort

by Guy Hiscott

The 7th of June in Dublin was a wet and damp day and although the rain seemed never ending, that couldn’t dampen the spirits or efforts of over 40,000 women who ran, jogged and walked the Dublin women’s mini marathon.

Among this year’s entrants were students, graduate dental nurses and tutors from Marino College of Further Education, who completed the mini marathon to raise funds for The Chernobyl Children’s Trust.

Their marathon effort helped The Trust to achieve its fundraising targets, allowing its amazing work to continue and children to spend time in Ireland for recuperation this summer.

For those dental practices involved in providing voluntary dental treatment to the children while here in Ireland, they will be arriving on 18 June and will be here until 16 July.

Well done and thank you to all those dental nurses who gave up their time to benefit others by completing the marathon and those who volunteered their time and skills to provide support during the children’s dental treatment while here in Ireland.
