This year’s Irish Academy of American Graduate Dental Specialists (IAAGDS) Annual Scientific Meeting was met with great success, according to the society’s president and its members.
The meeting, held last month at the Conrad Dublin Hotel in Dublin, saw more than 220 dentists in attendance from the Republic and Northern Ireland.
‘The meeting was a great success, with positive feedback from our sponsors and attendees,’ Dr Arthur O’Connor, president of the IAAGDS, noted.
The AGM had two lecture theatres running in parallel from 9am until lunchtime and was presented by dental professionals from Ireland or working from Ireland who had completed their postgraduate training at American universities. Dentists were able to attend a selection of the presentations they were most interested in, and also browse a small exhibition.
Drs Martin Brennan, Paul O’Reilly and John Dermody were among the speakers, each presenting on a variety of topics in dentistry such as failing dentition and problem solving in endodontics.
The meeting also saw a change of officers as Dr Traelach Tuohy and Dr Ian Fitzgerald’s tenure came to an end.
Dr O’Connor says the society is already looking forward to next year’s meeting, taking place on Saturday 24 September 2016. Find out more at www.iaagds.ie.
