Growth expected in dental implant sector

by Guy Hiscott

The placement of dental implants is set to grow significantly over the next five years.

This is according to Millennium Research Group (MRG), a global authority on medical technology market intelligence.

Most of the growth results from predictable population ageing.

‘The aesthetic and dental areas have consistently shown greater than average growth,’ says April Chan, publications manager at MRG. ‘Dental implants will show a growth of 9% percent, driven by consumer demand for anti-ageing treatments.’

Subjects covered in MRG’s North American Surgical Procedure Volumes 2011 include dental procedures, diagnostic imaging procedures, facial injectable procedures, and soft tissue repairs.
