The Dublin Dental School and Hospital event is being organised by Dr Denise MacCarthy, while Dr Eleanor O’Sullivan has taken charge of the screening day at Cork University Dental School and Hospital.

The same day will mark the official launch of MHNC. That Wednesday in September will also see the publication of the MHNC’s information leaflet, which has been put together in collaboration with the Dental Health Foundation of Ireland and the Irish Cancer Society.

One of the founding members, Ken Mulhall, spoke at the recent annual conference of the Irish Society for Disability and Oral Health (ISDH).

Outlining his personal experiences, Ken spoke candidly about the difficulties he has faced.

Looking to the future, Ken, through his work with MHNC, will continue to raise mouth cancer awareness in Ireland and encourage closer collaboration between patients, carers and professionals.

Also on the horizon is the development of MHNC information on websites, including that of the Dental Health Foundation, and a sponsored walk in 2011.
