Dunmurry Dental Practice continues winning streak

by Guy Hiscott

At this year’s Dentistry Awards, it was a clean sweep for Dunmurry Dental Practice in the Northern Ireland region. They won Best Team and Best Practice, while principal Philip McLorinan claimed the Best Young Dentist prize – a fabulous hat trick that they have won for the second year in a row.

On a spectacular night for him and his practice, Philip said: ‘We are just gob-smacked, simple as that. We didn’t expect to win – in fact we were using it as our Christmas party. Scoring another hat trick for the second year in a row is fantastic recognition for the team. The recognition the Dentistry Awards give is very important; our practice, our team and our patients will benefit.’

Meanwhile, Mullan Gallagher Dental Group was highly recommended in the Best Team category, as was Gentle Dental Care for Best Practice.

Held for the fourth year running at the Athena in Leicester, the Dentistry Awards attracted more than 500 people from the dental world, who enjoyed a sumptuous dinner and a 70s carwash-themed show, while the Awards ceremony was hosted by up-and-coming comedian Paul Thorne.

Following all of this, party-goers took advantage of the disco and danced into the early hours.

The Dentistry Awards were created to recognise outstanding individuals, teams and practices who have an active interest in continuing professional development and staying at the top of the profession.
