Minister announces NIMDTA re-appointments

Michael McGimpsey, the Minister for Health, has announced the re-appointment of two non-executive members to the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency (NIMDTA).

Mr Albert Baird has been re-appointed for a further three years, while Mrs Judith Eve will continue as a member of the Agency for another four years.

Mr Baird BA AIA lives in Crossgar. From October 2002 until March 2004 he served as a member of the former Northern Ireland Council for Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education. Mr Baird was initially appointed to the NIMDTA from 23 August 2004 to 22 August 2008.

Mrs Eve CBE LLB lives in Belfast. Prior to the establishment of the Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency in April 2004, she was a member of the Northern Ireland Council for Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education. Mrs Eve was initially appointed to the NIMDTA from 23 August 2004 to 22 August 2008.

The Northern Ireland Medical and Dental Training Agency was established as a Special Agency by the Department of Health, Social Services and Public Safety on 1 April 2004 and is responsible for funding, managing and supporting postgraduate medical and dental education within the Northern Ireland Deanery.

The board of NIMDTA consists of a non-executive Chair and five non-executive members (three lay members, one medical member and one dental member).
